Default improved oil pan?

so i just did my oil again and when i did it everything looked fine, until yesterday when i noticed a small puddle under the truck. the plug was about half a turn loose. i always try to go easy putting the plug in due to how easy they strip out. but even though it is tight now, i still have a small drip. i was wondering if anyone knows of any company that sells an improved oil pan?

one with a better bung on it for the plug

I would just stick in an oversized tapered plug.

The reason a drain plug will come loose is the gasket is bad. They are made of felt or plastic and only last so long. Buy a new gasket, have a friend hold a running shop vac at the oil fill spout pull the plug install new gasket reinstall plug. Good to go.

Back in the day when I changed oil for a living, Ford drain plugs were nightmares if they were over tightened. The spot weld holding the nut on the inside of the pan would break. Had to pull the pans and have the nuts properly welded into the pan. More than likely just a bad gasket, but if you ever remove the pan, I would lay a nice weld around the nut to make up for the factory spot weld. My last oil change I replaced the drain plug gasket with a copper gasket with a rubber liner on the inside of the copper washer. Autozone sells a drain plug gasket kit with an assortment of gaskets. The copper and rubber combo has worked great.

If you dodge a bullet and a gasket fixes it, next oil change id replace the plug with a Fumoto valve and never have to mess with it again.

so i changed the gasket. old one was plastic and on closer inspection i could see the bolt indention on it. i went to advanced auto and got a multi pack of gaskets and used the one that was a metal gasket that was lined with rubber. it worked like a charm. though i did have to change the oil again. so now it is really clean in there. i will be changing the gasket on the plug every time from now on. or i will look into that Fumoto Valve. i didnt see your post before i changed the gasket.
