I'am new here an need help!!
I have a '89 f150 w/ 300 straight six, 5spd, lwb, 2wd. i recently looked at jegs.com for headers. it says without smog injection or injection heads?? how do i figure what kind of heads i have??
Another question...
I learned the wheels from a dodge ram ('05 an up) have the same lug pattern. will these fit my truck?
an how much trouble will a 5.0 or 5.8 swap be? new tranny?? and if the engine is mounted on a automatic tranny? will it mount to my standard transmission?
sorry for all the questions, i just wanted to know these things!!
Please an thanks!!!

Go here for good info on your 300 I6 http://www.fordsix.com/, and here; http://www.classicinlines.com/home.asp don't be in such a hurry to change out your 300 for a V8. You have a 4X2 so you are not hauling around the front drive components so you have plenty of engine. As I have said in this forum more then once the 300 inline 6 is one of the finest engines Ford ever put in a truck. With good care and regular oil changes this engine will go just about forever. My F150 might have a 302 V8 but I would be just as happy if it was a 300 inline. In past years I have had a couple of Fords with the 300 they had carburetors, points and coil ignitions they where easy to keep in tune and would start even in 20 plus below zero Temp's without hesitation.
Make sure the Dodge wheels have the proper offset and the holes for the lug nuts are the proper diameter.
For Headers go to http://www.summitracing.com/
Below is nice set of tuned Hookers. Don't automatically think putting headers on will give you more
power, they could result in less power so do you home work before you consider installing a set.
