Default Hub removal, Help!

I've trying to replace my wheel bearings and hubs but I can't get the hub off first. I got the cover off, held in by 3 torx head screws. I just can't get this hub out. Do I need a special tool or is there some hidden special button that'll make the damn thing fall into my hand. Please help, my trucks on jacks until I fix this and the replace the shocks. Thanks!

your suppose to have a socket for it i believe , see the 4 grooved spots on it? a socket fits on that....... i bet you could break it loose with a big pair of channel locks......

i havnt ever fooled with any automatic lock in hubs before , ive done manual lockin hubs a million times though.

give it a shot and see

The hub, which is actually on the truck should just come off after the 3 bolts were taken out, what you are holding should come off with the hub, not by itself, try tapping the hub with a soft hammer, not steel, or a hammer and a small piece of wood to work itself off, the oring is probably holding it on, after the hub comes off, there is a retaining ring that holds the lock in the hub, two very small flat screwdrivers should take it out.

I hate auto hubs with a passion. such a pita to work on. you have to do a bunch of snap rings and stuff to get it. Sorry not much of a help. But if I was you I'd get yourself a pair of warn premiums

I have never done auto hubs but, on manual hubs there is a type of c-clip that you must pull out. It is about a 16th inch clip that secures to the outside of the hub that you must pull out.

I guess I have a different hub than you. I found out there's a drive socket tool with 6 little notches that attaches onto this and unscrews it. Nobody in town has it so I had to order it online. Thanks for the input.
