is there any way to get a schematic of the vacuum lines???or how do i go about checking to see what should have vacuum and where the vacuum starts from?

I'm trying to pull the codes from my truck, but for the life of me, I can't find the connectors.

I have an '87 5.8L/351. This is a carburated engine, where should I look for the connectors? I have looked along the firewall and over both fenders but no luck. Do I even have OBD-I?

On my 1988 I6 they were right behind the coolant/windshield washer res, but mine is fuel injected and a different engine. maybe it will be in the same place tho. its in a little black plastic cover

Is the EEC the same as the OBDI? Not a wiring genius.

EEC stands for electronic engine control, so it refers to the computer. There are OBDI EECs and OBDII EECs

I just use a paperclip. Fold it so theres 2 humps skinny enough to slide in the top right 2 slots of the larger connector. Then you have to ground out the STI...simple....with the same paper clip thats now inserted in the larger connector you take the end of it and stick in the STI. this grounds it out and puts the eec in diagnostic mode. now grab a pen and a paper turn the key on. (KOEO).

the check engine light will flash...count the flashes and you have your codes.

it is most likely on the driver side of the engine bay toward the fire wall. look for anything that says eec test.

Damn, wish i had seen this before i bought my other one...
Does anyone know if they are 2 or 3 digit codes?
