Default how much is it worth?

I have a chance to get a 302 V8 engine for $300. It has only 60,000 miles on it. Is that a good price? What are they usually going for these days?

Ok thanks. I think I'm gonna get it. Do you know of any good headers for a cheap price?

Stock are actually a pretty good balance for these engines, unless you're Camming & Intake modding too. You're looking for balance w/ any engine modding. Just because something bolts on, doesn't mean it's necessarily going to be worth the time & expense. Not w/o "Balance"! You need to do some research before you start buying stuff for it.

But buy the engine if your reasonably sure of it's history. That part's a "no brainer".

Lmc headman headers were really low quality imo I had a set they lasted not even through a winter and had to be replaced

If you can get it, go for it. I agree that it's a deal. Also, if it was me, I'd put brand new gaskets (and valve stem seals) on it before installing it. Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand a leak and I can't stand oil consumption! Try to head that off from the start if you can.
