Default How much lift, which tires are best?

I bought an 88, it has 35in tires, I’m thinking they are too big for the 8.8 and the 44, any wisdom?

Also, It has a body and suspension lift, but I don't know how much. I'm thinking to measure the lift, a measurement is taken at the top of the wheel well opening and compared to a stock measurement at the same place before and after, trouble is I don't know the stock height. Any wisdom here would be appreciated too.

With the 8.8 and the 44 and no problems breaking axles? If so, sounds good and I'll just keep them on there.

ive got a 2wd for now, until i can actually get my hands on a good priced front axle. but the 41" IROK's have never caused axle problems. I have had to replace the ring and pinion before b/c the gear quality was poor...I've ended up with a Auburn LSD, and RICHMOND 4.88 gears with Swepco 201 gear oil and Auburn LSD oil additive. I wouldn't run 41" tires without RICHMOND gears!!

pix are on my profile page inside 3 albums...check 'em out!

I run 35's with the 8.8 and D44 TTB. I have broken 2 driverside front axle shafts, at the u-joint. However, both times was 4LO, WOT, and traction with the wheels turned to the left.

Thanks for the wisdom guys, I'm thinking the 35s will be ok for my use which to putter around on the deer lease occasionally crossing a stream.

Wondering how much lift there is, looks like 2" body, and I don't know how much suspension. Anyone know stock height?

How much room do you have from fender to tire? Usually 35's require 6" of total lift. Many people can get away with 4" but IMO it doesn't look as good.

I'm not at the truck right now to measure, but nearly the entire wheel well is visible above the 35s. So maybe it's more then 6"?
