How much to ask for a turn key 302 and E4OD???

Hey fellas.

Just thinking to the future for the Big Block install here which brings up a couple questions.

How much do you think I could get if I sold the 302, E4OD and the computer together. The engine now has close to 77,000 miles with them both ( trans and engine ) being stock without any issues.

If the incoming funds don't increase in a timely manor I'd like to use my current drivetrain to help it along.

Depending on how much I'm able to get for mine plus what I have currently setting aside, there might be minimal down time.

On the other side, it's gonna take a lot longer to save the funds, but I can keep the truck on the road until the swap, then pocket what I get for the current engine and trans.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you need a financial advisor.

in middle TN and SW VA...the engine trans and CPU, running and where a buyer could see it, hear it run might get you near to $1K, just the setup laying on the floor, about half that. Best of luck.

around here a used 302 in good condition with low miles will go for about $500

You'd probably have to let the customer see it running in the truck. Also as a hypothetical customer i'd want to see a compression test and hot idle oil pressure reading and a service log. Likely $500 can't see more then that its a non performing SBF and weak stock E40D. Also the big block swap your considering you'll need parts off the 302s harness to integrate like the alternator, gauges, a/c, starter, etc the engine into the trucks wiring. You might want to get the engine donor (460 and trans) before you pull the 302/E40D to get a sense of what you are going to do like stay EFI or carb and work out your plumbing, wiring and exhaust and fuel system.

Thanks for the input fellas.

I did plan on doing a video on my go pro showing the engine running in the truck along with the hot compression test readings and odometer readout along with a bore scope snapshot of each cylinder.

Ive tried to keep in mined what I would want to see if I were making the purchase.

Whomever comes to see the setup in person will hopefully consider the condition of the truck along with all the documented maintenance in the back of the owners manual.

Ive never had to shop for a setup like this so lately I've been researching online with little to no success so thought you guys could give a little guidance.

Sorry, if I could afford a financial adviser I wouldn't need to be pinching pennies for a long period of time to make this project possible, I'd just go out and purchase a crate engine, trans and rear end and have somebody else put it in. But thanks for that opinion anyway.
