Default How many quarts of oil and what type of oil is nest fot the 4.9 ?

Like the title says. I'm not new to wrenching just new to the 4.9! Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks

10W-30 is the recommended oil according to my owners manual, 6 quarts. Motorcraft FL-1S oil filter.

Should be everything you need! And the drain plug is 1/2 inch too I think

Cool thank you. I typically use 10-w30 in my v8s but was not sure about the inline six! Is there a difference in the filter I looked it up in the book at the store and it said fl-1A?

I like to run 10w-30 in spring summer times so above 50 deg F and 5W30 during fall winter under 50 deg F. Manual says you can run both but 10W 30 is recommended, I always found it to be a bit much for say 32 deg weather like we are having now.

6 quarts of 5-w30 using fl-a1 filter I use full synthetic but its not recommend if its not already been converted.

Pretty much 5.5 to 6 quarts as mentioned above. Only thing I would like to advise is not to use the Fram Extra Guard (part number PH8A). Use a great filter such as Motorcraft FL-1A as mentioned, Purolator L30001, Pure One PL30001, or something on that level or better.
