Default How do i get my exhaust louder

I have 302 with just the first cat (cut the second one out) I have 2.5 pipe going back to a flowmaster 40 series with a 12" tail pipe duping under the bed. It's still a lot quieter then one would think. Would adding a tail pipe straight out the back of the bed make it louder?

Get rid of the flowmaster 40 and replace it a different type.

Would you dump it in front of the tire or just go straight out the back?

I'd dump it with turndowns under the bed if you want louder.

When I was younger I loved loud pipes. This truck has been killing me lately, though. I'm going to put a nice quiet setup on it. Guess I've finally reached that point in life!

I agree with all these guys, glasspacks will be your best bet. If that's still not loud enough you could look into a high flow cat (not sure if it'd cause you to throw codes or not) but at just around 100 bucks for some brands it beats redoing the whole 9 yards with headers and duals and whatnot, <- Not saying they're a bad option if you have the cash
