Default How do I fix this?

So I have my 1987 F150 up the mountains for deer hunting. After the morning hunt I drive up the road (unpaved through rocks and hills) a few miles back to see what other hunters have gotten. Well I went to turn around and going from Reverse to Drive I stalled out, no big deal right? Well it wouldn't start back up. I checked the coil wires they were tight. I sprayed ether into it and it starts and then stalls. So I figure it's not getting fuel, go out and buy a $130 fuel pump and still doesn't fix the problem. I have no computer and no phone service up there and minimal tools. I got a hunter to drive me into town where I made a call and got my brother to drive up 2 hours to get me then back down. Rough Monday-Tuesday...Now I am going to get a 4X4 tomorrow and drive up and pull the truck out of the woods to my cabin (its 2 miles into thick deep PA woods) I walked it twice today. I AM BEAT! Someone please help! The next time I go out there I want it to be my last

Hell of a place to break down. And by the way I did jump out the Inertia switch and that wasn't it either

the first thing I would check would be the fuel pressure, what pump did you replace?

I tried pushing the pin down to see if any gas would spray out and it didn't.

What do you mean by which pump? Its a silver cylinder mounted on the frame
if that helps

ok, I believe you changed the in line high pressure pump, did you try turning the key a couple times without starting it to build up pressure? if it still doesnt start it might be the in tank fuel pump, does it have dual tanks?
