I will be picking up a 90 or 91, not sure yet, in the next couple of weeks. I know it is a 5.0 with an automatic. What are the first things I should check? Thanks in advanced. Terry

Welcome to the OBS community. I am newer to the OBS style but every truck I have ever bought I have ALWAYS checked all the fluids (Diff/Trans/oil/coolant/PS) and then I check for possible electrical issues (checking for connections/wires not in their original looms/extra wiring (in engine compartment/under dash) and then rust prone areas. I also check to see if the engine is warm prior to me starting it (rough cold starts). Also look for any type of half-assed repair attempts on anything (baling wire/duct tape/rope) as that can point to someone who does know much about vehicles who attempted to fix minor issues that could contribute to larger issues (which might be why they are selling). Good luck.

New 93 owner. Mine came from family so I knew the issues I would be facing.

I’d do some research on the “rust problems” on these old rides. Anything can be replaced or repaired.

In the end these trucks really only NEED one thing........a financial commitment.
