hey everyone im new to this forum. but i just got a 92 f150 5.0 4x4 truck. its kinda my project im going to lift it. but i been haveing some problems my truck has got 150,000 miles on it the motor runs great and the truck is in great shape. but i was haveing some problems when you put the truck in reverse it would die so i took it to auto zone had a scan ran on it they said it was the tps sensor and egr valve so i changed the tbs but not the erv well after we changed it the truck ran fine. the next day it started shifting hard again and cutting out alittle and now it will rev high it did bnot rev high before any help would be great thanks

 

I am not sure the EGR valve would have much to do with the high reving. Have you tried the IAC valve? It could be filled with soot and such. It can be removed and cleaned. I had to put a restrictor on my 89 because the revs would "hang" during shifting.
