I would get new housings for around $50 new on eBay, a set of sliver star bulbs and enjoy. Remember, hid's and LEDs would be "Modifications" of factory lighting and could, if the police or inspection station wanted to, ticket you. Hid's or any Performance Modification is illegal in all 50 states. Our local PD does not ticket hid's because they don't have lists of non-factory hid equipped vehicles and they leave it up to the state. Our state law mirrors the federal law which doesn't tell the cops which vehicles come from the factory with hid's. It just says that any non-factory modifications to headlights are illegal. From somebody that drives an emergency vehicle on the back roads at all hours of the night, please take into consideration that most hid's are high beam only and the factory headlight housing cannot focus an hid arc. They do blind oncoming drivers, especially during rain and fog. Please think about others before you do hid's!

Basically, Euros are just clear lenses with colored inserts where needed, such as the red and yellow inserts on the tail lights. Those headlights are technically.....yada yada yada, legal since they are modified for better performance. I've never seen a cop care about euro lenses. My Fiance is a cop and she TD me to buy a set for my truck. Go for it! I live the clear lenses. The smoked lenses are $50 on eBay and I really love them. Get some silver star ultra bulbs and you'll be set.

I heard the silver stars were all hype... But I'm probably wrong.

I've used them. They're not HID's, but I haven't had one burn out in the three years I've used them. When I bought them, I had just polished my lenses and got headlights flashed at me allot on low beam! They're great with clean lenses.

I love the silverstar. I use the one just up from that the ultra star. Good OEM quality and about as bright as you want as long as you have good lenses. To get any brighter you need to go to hid and change all the wiring and as unit505 says risk the ticket and blind other drivers. In my opinion if you need more light than that for back roads and off road add some off road and fog lights that you can turn off in traffic.
