I would check the MLPS to make sure the resistance is correct
in each position of the shifter.

The OD light flashes when there is a problem with the tranny, the harsh shifting is due to the tranny being in fail safe or limp home mode. I am not sure how to check the codes for the tranny but someone else here should be able to help you.

The harsh shifting as has been stated is a fail safe mode what is has happened is your main clutch pack has failed, and the transmission is using the clutch pack that locks up your torque converter. This clutch pack is not as strong as the main set so it has to shift harder in order for it to last as long as possible. I am sorry to say it is rebuild time.
