Hey fellas,
I purchased a 94 reg bed,f150 xlt 4x4 auto with a dead 5.0 302.
Found an also 94 lightning engine with 80k for $700 complete(intake to oil pan).
Will that be worth or should I be looking for a different engine?
What else will I need if I buy the lightning engine to make it work?Computer?Y pipe?belts?
Truck is more of a toy than anything else.
I have a mechanic that would charge me $500 for the swap regardless which motor I get.

Not too sure about that year but prolly need the computer for that engine. Prob need the engine wiring harness too. Make sure the fuel lines/pump is sufficient. If it has a MAF prob need re calibrated. Double check all the above but might give you an idea.

Keep all your electrical, just use the engine. Can't get a better system than your MAF system, and the 5.8 doesn't come with MAF.

Moved to 87'-96'.

Pretty straight forward swap. I did an L conversion on my 94. Have to lengthen some wires since senors arent in same location. As for exhaust might want to either run a true dual system, or bigger single set-up. I used long tubes and a true 2.5 dual system.
