I run the Goodyear Wrangler Authority A/T. 31x10.50. So far they have 21k on them, and still more than half tread. The tires are definately screamers, as opposed to growlers. It's a higher pitched whine, but I like it. It's almost at annoying at 80mph though lol. They've never let me down in my 2wd, great ride on the road, handle rain great, sand is iffy in them. Mud is great. They self clean pretty damn good, and I bog the truck at 2000rpm in second gear, pretty much a 30mph wheel speed with 'em spinning just enough. I've only been stuck when my diff, frame, or bumper started dragging haha. And when I creep along at idle and the front falls into a hole I couldn't see.

And most important for you, my fuel mileage has stayed the same. My gas gauge doesn't work, so it's kind of important for me to know my miles! I get 16mpg in combined driving with the 300 and E4OD with 3.08s. I might have gotten 17 on 235/75s, but I didn't have them on the truck very long. I didn't change the amount of miles to a tank I could get when I went up tire sizes, and I don't run out of gas often. Just when I've been driving faster than usual, or idling a lot

honestly if you don't go to much wider with the tire (less friction) and you go bigger you will get better gas milage, just for the fact that you are going that much further with every turn. I run 36" x 12.5 super swamper tsl radials and I get 19 on the highway. So bigger isn't worse, I only got 16 with 31 x 11.5

Also, in reading some other posts, i saw that 31/10.5/15 will sometimes rub at full turn with stock wheels and suspension. Will the 2" coil lift i plan to do fix that problem?

It won't fix it, but it'll make it rub a lot less. My tires had a grabbing rub before, where you could feel the side biters on the radius arm, now I can't feel the side biters after the 2.5 inch level, but still know it rubs a little. Nothing to worry about though.

Ok, so is there any way to fix this? or do i even need to? I have heard of backspacing when talking to several jeep buddies of mine, is this an option?
