Default Help with a '95 5.0 H.O.

Okay, let me try to explain my problem. I put a 5.0H.O. in my '95 f-150 4x4 flareside. The truck runs great with the exception at idle it has a miss and when sitting idle in reverse or drive it dies. I've set the timing numerous times and have taking to a shop and had them set it. Still no fix. I'm thinking maybe a vacuum problem but not sure. Also, all the emissions have been removed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone needs more info let me know and I'll try and give what I can.

Check your tps voltage. Also, you might need an IAC bypass plate because the cam on the HO engine might require a bit more airflow than your stock cam.

Thanks qdeezie, I should also have mentioned that it has a BBK throttle body with a spacer. I'll check into the IAC spacer.

With that BBK throttle body, I've often heard that the spot where the IAC goes needs to be polished (with something like a dremel) to remove the casting flash marks because it causes a whistling noise when driving. I will be putting one on my truck at some point and I found that in my research.

Regarding the TB spacer, you might want to remove that while you sort out your problems.

DAMN! I was hoping you'd overlook that TBS so I could stir the pot in a little while! Lol

qdeezie, I polished the TBS before install and I'm not hearing any whistleing. I got the IAC spacer on order and should be here today from the local ford shop (hopefully they ordered the right part). I'll remove the TBS and test it out before putting on the IAC spacer and see what happens. Thanks again for the help.

Have you tested the TPS voltage yet? You might need to adjust it since you had to install it on a different TB.

Before you open that IAC bypass plate package to install it, you might want to check the TPS voltage first so you can get your $ back in case you don't need it.

I'll check it and set it this evening first.
