The most I have hauled in the bed of my 96 F150 was approximately 2,950 pounds. I say approximately because I had a yard of topsoil in the bed, along with 30 retaining wall blocks at 25lbs each, total of 750lbs of block. The person at the landscape company said a yard of dirt weighs about 2,200lbs. That plus the block = 2,950lbs (+ or -)

I have a 94 F150 XL single cab long bed and the most i've hauled at once was 20 sheets of sheet rock that weighed about 3100 lbs. The back was squatted down pretty far but didnt have any real performance issues.

I had 39 sheets of 1/2 in. plywood in the bed w/ the gate down 2 wks. ago. hit the gas a little too hard & spit 20 sheets out the back like a deck of cards over 50 ft. of road.

I did that with about 30 14' deck boards coming out of the home depot. The heaviest I carried in my old 86 F150, is 2 pallets of shingles, my 92 alot of heavy stuff, 35 1\2 sheetrock, pallet of cement, etc.

Back when I had my '95 XL, I hauled a pallet of St. Augustine sod. I'm not sure how much it weighed, all I know was it weighed a LOT more than I thought it would when I told the guy to just put the whole pallet on with a forklift. The suspension was doing the shimmy-shimmy-shake the whole way home.
