I gave my old head to a guy that works six cylinder heads. He cut it up to see what he could do with them. He said the castings were thin so there wasn't much room to work, but I think he was more focused on porting.

Do you have any idea on how big you can go with the valves. I agree with shaving the hea also did it to a 302 raised the comp a lot. Now i believe a I6 is 8.8-1 comp

not really sure about the valve size are you looking at putting a four barrel intake on it or is it fuel injected and why bigger valves i know its to breath better but if thats the only mod your planning on doing to the motor there is other ways like bigger cam so the valves would be open longer ect. ect.

Ill keep it fuel injected and the problem with a cam is that it will mess with the computer.

well the injectors control how much fuel is put to the valves bigger injector more fuel.to get more air you just polish the air manifold and put a bigger throttle body on it but in most cases like my truck i dont really need bigger t/b with that said with the more air/fuel there is going to be more exhaust. the main thing that should be done is exhaust a header is best and if it comes in good it has to go out good you can put bigger injectors with out any computer mods and chances are some other stock injector is going to be bigger then your and will fit and this will all cost about as much as a really good head job
