i would say its the heater core you can just bypass it for a little while and see if you are still losing coolant

you will see two heater hoses that run into the top of the firewall on the passenger side they are about 1" in diameter and usually they are marked heater hose probably your best bet is to just pull them both off and crimp them shut

from my experience it seems that heater cores do not last in florida that long and i think its because people dont use them as much.but good luck with replacing it.

Everyone who is telling you a heater core replacement is easy is full of s***. Mine blew up on me two months back, bought a new (nice) one for under 100 bucks, but when it came time to put in, it was a royal PITA. First you remove the glove box, then the blower motor, then ALL the friggin' dash panels. I kid you not. It has been the most troublesome fix for me thus far.

The blower motor is under the hood, not even close to being in the way of the core. Mine was super easy, just removed it to inspect it because I had a hose blow. Remove the glove box door and it's right behind it. Take off the cover and it slides right out. If it's leaking you will be able to tell by looking at it. Don't crimp anything to bypass it, you hook the two engine hoses together. Well, remove one and hook the end of the other to the other engine port.

Mine was quite easy to change on the three seperate year trucks I have done. I've done it on an 84 Bronco, 81 f150, and my 87 Bronco, only my 87 had A/C, so I'm not sure about the later years and differences. Basically like they said, disconnect hoses, remove the glove box, remove bolts on heater core housing.... My current 91 is in need of changing within the next few months...

just unhook the 2 hoses off the firewall and hook them to each other with a 90deg plastic or metal tube and connect them with a hose clamp. that way when you get ready to fix it just unhook the bypass and rehook to the new core.if you crimp the hoses shut you outlet hose from your watter pump may blow. the pump is gonna pump so the water has to go somewhere.
