Yes Woosterken as Sean stated I used the existing wires coming out of the switch as control wires to trigger relays that then close contacts that are fed from the battery.
I used two relays, one for the low beam and one for the high beam. The head lights have three wires. On my 95 the high beam is LG/BK, the low beam is R/BK, and the ground is black. I used two 30 amp relays and sockets. I ran a #10 wire feed from the battery fused at 30 amps to provide the power feed to the relays. I then used the LG/BK and R/BK as the trigger or control wires to the coils of the relays. The power or load were wired to the N.O. ( normally open) contacts on the relays from the #10 wire that was wired to the fender mounted relay next to the battery. The socket base for the relays had lugs that allowed me to fasten them right to the radiator support near the battery useing self tapping screws. The ground for the relay coil ties into the existing ground lug on the radiator support. The ground for the lights remained the same.
I'm a cheap guy and the relays, sockets, and even the fuses came from the JY. The # 10 wire was left over from some wiring job from a HVAC repair. The relays have a wiring diagram on the side identifying what the terminals are for.
