96 f-150 headers/exhuast question
First off hello to everyone I'm a noob around these parts lol
OK so I've got a 96 f-150 and I'm trying to make my exhaust louder. Right now I've got an original 40 series Flowmaster on there but much to my luck I live in the "great" state of California where its illegal to run your exhaust without cats so my question is what can I do to make it louder? Keep in mind this model has 2 cats (which I hate). Most people have been telling me that some headers should do the trick, others say a smaller single chamber muffler will do. Any suggestions? Also which is better for sound, long or short tube headers?

I would just move out of that communist state and what you want to your truck. I have BBK shortys, Bassani off road "Y" pipe into a single 3" Dynomax ultra flo. Its plenty loud and has a unique tone.
