Default Got a new truck!

Its been a long time coming! I’ve been looking for one with some decent parts to throw on my 91’ and wishing I just had a 92-96. It finally happened. Found a 96 that had the same color scheme and they for the most part to really good care of it. Straight body, no rust, and an exceptionally clean interior.

It it has some issues, but fairly minor. When I figure out how maybe I can post some pics.

About 6 months ago I had bought new wheels and tires to give the 91’ a fresh look and since the body was beat up it least they made me somewhat overlook it.

So so now I want to take those wheels off and put on the 96’. This truck has however been lowered. Raising the back looks pretty straight forward. Just put the leaf springs back on top of axle.

What I don’t understand is how the front is lowered.
Can anyone help?

Probably had drop beams - pics will definitely confirm it.

Congrats!

So so when I looked under the front end ,the first thing I noticed was that the I-beams were clearly not factory.
Is this what is being referred to as drop beams.
If so looks like my 91’ has become the donor truck. The front end is all new.

Yep - easiest to just swap the whole front end out at once.

The drop beams will be worth something to someone for sure.

Those drop beams go for between $350-450 new so, they're worth a little something to the right people.

I appreciate all!
it might seem strange to be excited about a 22 year old vehicle.

I don't know about that! I searched high and low to find my 95 about 4 years ago, and I was pretty dang excited to finally get it!
Congrats, and looking forward to pics!
