Default Going to tire shop, quick question about shocks

My question is, I had shocks put on when I bought the truck since the factory ones were leaking. I had the entire front suspension gone over, bearing etc and all were in good shape except shocks. I noticed after the new shocks when I hit a mild bump in road, like where 2 pieces of pavement come together and sometimes one will stick up 1/2 inch higher etc, the front feels harsh and get a good jolt that I didnt feel when the old shocks were on. Is there anything I need them to look at?

I'm going there to get a tire put on so want to get there and know what to ask them to look at. Trucks in sig, 95, 4x4, 5.0 long bed, 44k original miles, 265/75/15 tires.
