its not hard to change but now are you going to pull the bed or drop the tank? I pulled the bed, I figured I would replace 4 bolt instead instead of messing around with a full tank of gas. I also had to replace the wire connection to the pump and fix my exhaust so it was good that i did. also make sure you do some burn-outs when the bed is off.

Just call me sean. Really
My gas gauge used to take 15 minutes to come on, then it would slowly get up to the proper level... Now it just always stays on E. I take it this is also the sending unit?

Mine was working fine when I got the truck. I'd fill it all the way up, and the needle would point to F. Now when I fill up I only get 3/4. When it reads E and I fill up it only takes about 10 gallons. So is this the sending unit as well?
Is the sending unit all in one with the pump and other in-tank hardware? Can I just repair the sending unit? Anyone have a link?
The previous owner said he replaced the fuel pump not long ago, and it really whurrs up when I put the key in.

Unless you've had the needle off the gauge I still say sending unit. I suppose anybodys problem could be a bad wire too, but the sending unit is so common on these. Personally I've never been in one of these trucks with a working gauge, none of them work. My year the sending unit is like $60 and the pump and all is $100ish. I'm cheap but I already need one pump so the other can't be far behind.
