Gas Fill Up

Gas Fill Up
Hi everyone! I own a 92 F-150 Flareside and have noticed that at most gas stations I have trouble filling up the tank. If I hold the handle down all the way, it will go for a bit, the quickly back up, spill all over the place. If I hold the handle down about half way, I can fill up the tank without any issues.
Im not sure what's causing it to back up and was hoping you guys could help. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Or a collapsed tank vent hose which I believe is inside the fuel inlet hose. If it gets clogged or collapses it will cause this. Happens on our E350 and E450's allot. Not had the filler hoses off of my truck, but I have had the fuel inlet hose fall off at the diesel pumps on an ambulance while fueling it (SUCKED/EMBARRASSED). They're both rubber hoses and need replacing from time to time. More so the inner hose coming loose from the filler inlet. Not a job for fat fingers, but still fairly easy to reconnect if the inner hose is in good condition.

Mine kind of does the same thing. I have to baby the gas in. It doesn't spill,it just keeps stopping the pump. I have to hold the hose and the nozzle a certain way. Total pain in the neck.

I had to rerun mine some when i put the flatbed on there. The hose doesnt have enough slope and I have to manually hold the trigger on the nozzle or itll spill all over. Just something I have always had to deal with.

It could be the pump. I only have this happen at one gas station. So after arguing with that station owner I don't go there anymore. 7 years of owning my truck and filling the tanks at stations between Virginia and Georgia and never having an issue this one station always causes an overflow. Do you have the same problem at other stations?

Mine does the same thing, I hold the filler up and I don't have any issues. It's cause gasoline is bouncing off a bent or damaged hose and hitting the nozzle so it shuts itself off to prevent from an overflow.
