Exhaust leak throwing check engine??

Default Exhaust leak throwing check engine??

I have a 96 rwd f150 with a 302 and it has a exhaust leak and my check engine light is on i ran the it on the computer it came up with my upstream hose is off im not really sure what its saying but could it be with my egr vavlenot getting enough pressure??

Check for any cracked or loose hoses up front. Maybe your gas cap? Just throwing out something.

Don't remember the code but I heard it could have to do with my erg valve

Probably showing a lean condition to the computer which in turn will cause the computer to over compensate and make the air / fuel too rich. Better get the leak fixed or you could end up with several other problems.

it helps if you have the exact code there are 7 different codes that could be something to do with the egr alone. i should know i fixed all but 3 now

I would pull the codes again to get a more definite answer.
A 96 should be a OBII system possibility it was a P1405 code.

This may not be the exact setup on our trucks but it will give you an idea how the system works
