Default Fuel line question

Had a buddy show, and drop off up with his "new" 1993 f150 I6 5speed 2WD truck, dual tanks, for me to fix. I helped diagnose 2 bad fuel pumps on it which he replaced. One of them was bad out of the box. Anyway, getting 20PSI at the rail. So my question is this. In doing searches, I've seen about transfer switches, the mechanical ones. This truck and also mine, do not have them. On the fuel rail, before the FPR, there is a cylinder/ accumulator looking thing. For the life of me I don't know what this is. Anyone else know what it is? Can't find it here of image searches on the net. I haven't looked at it yet as I'm finishing up my motor swap on my Grand Wagoneer, but gonna look at it today.TIA

You are not referring to the spring-lok connectors, fuel line to rail, are you?

no this looks like a FPR without the vacuum line. I'm sorry let me clarify, it's not just before the FPR it's just before the pressure test point.

Those are the quick release connectors, unless someone screwed with the lines. Take a picture.

this round thing, furthest back in the back. Also I've got battery voltage at the fuses and relay's/ But only 7 volts at the inertia switch. Guess that explains the 20psi. According to the diagram, power travels through inertia switch first, then to tank selector switch, right?

Yes inertia switch first. I don't think mine has that but it looks like a pressure balancer deal that helps with fuel pressure surges.

pulled codes, got 122 KOEO so off to get a TPS, got a 998 and 122 KOER. Check the tps and can't get the ohms to move on any pins. Still only 7 volts to inertia switch.

You guessed it, ford calls it "fuel pressure pulsation damper," FYI.

Fuel pressure spec:
KOEO=50-60PSI
KOER=45-60PSI

122KOEO=TPS less than self test minimum value
998=transmission solenoids
