Default acceloration problems

hello i got a little problem with my truck that im not sure if its normal or something is actually messing up.

the problem is when i hit the gas the engine feels like it loses power and dont really want to go between 20%-60% throttle. if i just put a little into it the truck will go fine, or i slam on the gas i can spin the tires. just right in the middle my truck feels like i got 5000 pounds behind me.

truck is a 96 with the 5.0/302 4 speed auto w/OD extended cab shortbed 2x4 101k miles.

Check for codes. Check for vacuum leaks. Last tune up?

If the cat was clogged you would feel it at WOT too. The PCM can store codes even if the CEL isn't on. I would check the resistance of the TPS through its operating range.

i should add another problem that has showed up that i forgot to mention.

when im crusing down the road going almost any speed over 30. if i get up to 50 and hold steady at that. after about 10 seconds to a minute i can feel my gas pedal vibrate a little bit and my truck feels like it goes into a head wind. it goes away if i move the gas pedal but aslong as i dont move it. it will vibrate and feel like im slowing down.
