Well the new pump is in and the tank is back up under the truck. It was kinda funny cuz when I first tried to start it she wouldn't start then I realized that even though I couldn't quite get all the fuel out it was too low for the pump to pick up but now that I got some fuel in her everything is functioning perfectly.

So... do you change just the pump or the entire fuel delivery module?

Those are a added safety feature so fuel lines don't separate during a collision.

I'd have to redrain and drop the tank. The lines require a tool to disconnect so I'll take my chances.

You should be okay because you have to use the release tool to get the lines off. So, they should be locked on.

They're just secondary clips for extra insurance. The fuel filter has the same connections but without those extra clips.
