if its to be towed or something else disregard
if i was gonna do a receiver hitch, i would set it up so the front surface was close to flush with a front opening in the bumper about a foot higher.

pretty sure they are half inch. and my truck was stuck good once and had a buddy yank from it a good number of times and it was fine. i would imagine the brackets themselves would give way at some point though, so i was planning on bracing it up a little bit until i got my bumper.

no offense but if this is to mount a winch when stuck, how practical is that likely to be if you are stuck in a foot or more of packed snow or mud? snow u can eventually shovel out but water/mud will submerge the winch, no?
