Default vacuum line questions

i was wondering about some vacuum lines connections. i have a 93 5.0. my smog pump is bypassed and i have some random vacuum lines that essentially seem to be going no where. i have a picture here of a vapor canister, is this going to be mounted on my passenger side inner fender?

i have vac lines going to it. my main concern is my truck is kind of loping as it idles. im going to double check/set the timing today after work to see if there is an issue there. i have a couple of old vac lines running from my throttle body to the vap can. can i just plug them or are they needed for proper engine performance?
i have plenty of extra good vac line rolled up i can use, but if i can just get rid of some of the mess under my hood, thatd be great.

also, the sphere with the vac lines going to it also on the fender well.....what is it and do i need it? mine is currently not hooked up or mounted.... if there are any diagrams you guys know of that'll make it short and sweet i'd greatly appreciate that as well.
