Ford F150 Eddie Bauer 5.0
So, I've had this nice 1996 Eddie Bauer edition for 12 years now. I have 186000 miles and, well decided to take better care if it. But I don't understand some if the items recommened to replace, change or ck.
For instance, I didn't find any recommendation ti change out the brake fluid, but I have. Do I replace the fuel filter? its not a diesel.
it says for 7.3 l dit diesel only every 15000 miles?
Do I replace or even have a crankcase emission filter?
No recommendation to ever replacing the timing chain or belt.
Thats all.
Any takers willing to straighten me out.
Thanks
Dave

Howdy and welcome.
I would replace the fuel filter once a year, or 15000 miles, whichever comes first.
Brake fluid should be replaced every 3-5 years but you rarely see it recommended because most of the time it just gets done when you replace your brakes.
Timing chain - What engine is it? 302 and 351's have timing chains that wear out and cause sloppy performance, 300's don't have a timing chain. At 186K miles a timing chain is not a bad idea, and while you are in there you can give it a fresh water pump and fan clutch.
Got any pics of your truck? We love pics
