I could live with the code. In fact, for that kind of gain, I could live with pulling the CEL bulb out of the dash! The only time I get concerned about a CEL is when the truck won't start.

On a stock tired, abused 4.9, an msd box is a great upgrade, It might not make any more peak power, but it will make more low end power, and will be able to pull in overdrive where you would have to down shift without it, and in offroading, it makes it very, very difficult to stall the engine.

I will be doing a write up on a sixlitre tune up as soon as I have the time.
so far its really simple and can be done to the 4.9l 5.0l and the 5.8l

Hate to be a party pooper, but that site has squat for the 300. A few ignition systems that are way over priced, but that's it.

Yep, Summit and Jegs have more for our 300's than that site. Good site for the small sixes though.

yeah i know looking at it closer i thought they had some bigger cams as well but oh well. I was mostly interested in there aluminum heads there trying to develop its interesting. it also helped me to learn about cross flow heads which actually existed for the 300 six. there is however a cool story about a maverick with an i6 and they try to kill it with a straight shot of nitrous which was pretty cool
