Firing problem
I have a 95 F150 5.0. It was recently in the shop and one of the things wrong with it was they say the distributor needed rebuilt. So I just replaced the cap and rotor for time being. Well when I did that the damn thing was shaking like crazy. I was pretty positive I put wires back exactly like they were. I even then looked at my book and followed its diagram. It still fires and shakes and I'll even hear like a knock or something once but I don't let it run long. What the heck is the issue ?

95 will be HO. Firing order should be 13726548 counterclockwise. Triple check that. Check that #1 is in the right position on the cap. Check that the button on top of the rotor is up high enough to contact the cap. Check that the cap is properly seated. Check that all the wires are properly seated in the cap.
Wires to # 5 + #6 have to be well separated from each other or they will crossfire.

They don't even have to touch. Just having them beside each other in the holders can cause that.
I like my wires lined up nice and neat in order but that can be a problem on windsors.
Those wires have to be completely away from each other (5+6)HO, (7+8)non HO
Ford put out a directive on that. You may even have a sticker under your hood to show recommended routing. My 95 does.

Ok so I guess my truck has a mind of its own. It doesn't wire up like any diagrams I have found for my 95 5.0. Had to get my grandpaw (original owner) to come out and help me figure it out. Some how my 3,4,7,8 (I think was those cylinders) don't like to follow manufacturers firing order. But any who we finally got her running smoothly. Later I'm gonna go out and make up a diagram to post on here and see if anyone can explain it to me.
