Default Tire size

I am wanting to put as big of tires on my 92 F-150 4x4 as I can without a lift kit. Does anyoe know how big I can go without having rubbage?

I believe you have 15" rims.

On my 96 (same truck) I had BF Goodrich Mud T/A's that were 33x9.5x15. Also, I had a friend that had 33x12.5x15's on his, but he had them on American Racing 15x8 rims. They didn't rub but they were really close. A 32x11.5x15 will fit the stock rim, and not rub, and is a very common size, so lots of options.

From what i know....11.50 is to big for the stock wheel. The tire will donut. I have 32x11.50 on 15x10 wheels. They rubbed so i shimmed the bumper out. Worked great.

Yeah, that bumper thing works great. I have 35's on an F350 with no lift. I just put spacers on the four bolts holding the bumper on. Worked great

so I am getting ready to shim my bumper. What did you guys use to space out your bumper and how far did you space it. I've got 32x11.50 am getting ready to put on.

I removed those (4) "J" clips that go on the bumper that the bolts screw into, and threw them out.

I bought 4 hardened bolts, lock nuts, and washers (all 3/8" I think). And for spacers, I used those long nuts that they use to join 2 pieces of threaded rods. (rod couplings) They're basically a standard nut that's about 1-1/4" long. You could also use regular nuts, but may have to double them up. For the rod couplings, you have to go a size bigger than the bolts you're using so it'll slide over it. I remember trying to use the same size coupling thinking I could just thread it on the bolt, but as you will see, most bolts aren't threaded all the way up.

1-1/4" may sound like alot to move the bumper, but nobody, (unless they know what to look for) will ever notice. The bumper will still follow the wheel-opening line.

I am sure you could also just use tubing that is just bigger than the bolts and cut to whatever length you need.
