Default A few issues with a '96 4.9L

Hey, i got a 1996 f150 about a year ago, excellent condition for a pennsylvania truck, original paint and no rust. Runs perfectly, with two exceptions: 1st when using the rear tank (it has dual tanks) it could run fine for weeks, then some time i stop or slow down for something it simply shuts off. If i switch tanks and wait a minite or so it starts like usual...thats the other issue, when starting (especially warm) it will sort of sputter and shut off if you leave it, i dont have a tach but i would guess it stays under about 500rpm when doing this. If you give it some gas, or shut it off and try again it works perfectly, sometomes a rough idle though.
Any suggesstions would help i'd love to keep this truck, 87 was the only better year in my opinion and like i said, its in excellent condition

it was fine for a while, but it started again a few weeks ago, distributor, wires, spark plugs, fuel filter and IAC valve were all replaced, i've talked to several mechanics, and they can't seem to find the problem. the only codes it shows are for O2 sensors.

I have a '95 with dual tanks and mine shuts off at stoplights occasionally as well. I have a new fuel filter but I've heard this could be fuel pump related as well. Have you checked your ignition module?

if one or more of your o2 senors are out they need to be replaced. all will cause the truck to run like crap(unless its the one after the cat, it will just show that something is wrong with your cat). which most likely is the cause of you losing power. i haven't heard of them being bad enough to make the vehicle not run, unless they have been out for a very long time and fouled your new plugs/clogged your cat.
