Faulty PCV?
#12
Just call me sean. Really
I'd build a catch can system before re-routing all that oil back through the intake, where it will gum up and cause performance problems down the line. It'll only cost you around 10 bucks to do. Just need a can, a breather filter, and a hose fitting!

I plan on doing that. Going to get a plastic jar with a screw on lid and drill two holes on top. Then I'll get two of the same diameter hose, one long, the other short and attach them to the lid. That way the oil will travel down the longer hose and collect at the bottom of the jar and the air(sans oil) will travel up the shorter hose which will be attached to the crankcase filter.

You never responded on what brand your PCV valve is. If you don't have a Motorcraft PCV valve, that's what you need to do before doing anything else. That is one of those parts on our trucks where it's OEM or nothing.

It's a Purolator brand. There is a strong vacuum when I remove the PCV valve with the engine running. So I think I'm definitely dealing with blowby....

Faulty PCV?
I realize that I am being a pain in the rear when I say this, but please get yourself a Motorcraft PCV before doing anything else.
Many of us have had the same issue only to find out that the non-Motorcraft PCV does not work like it should. I promise it is worth the money spent. If the problem does continue afterwards, at least you have a much better starting point.
For what it's worth, I am not one of these OEM or nothing for every part guys you see a lot of online, however, I and many others suffered the same fate until we bought one.
Also, make sure you clean out that hose that runs to the filter box after installing that Motorcraft PCV to get a clear analysis on the outcome.

Yup. I am definitely dealing with blowby...for now I have rigged a temporary oil catch can to go between the crankcase hose and the crankcase air filter in the airbox; it's working and I don't have as much oil making its way into the airbox, but I plan to replace that with this set up when it arrives in the mail....

Yup...just for the sake of trying with nothing else to lose but the higher cost of a Motorcraft PCV I did....and still have the problem...
