Falls on it's face 5.0 '94 4x4 help!
#22
Okay! I think I have fixed the falling on the face and the shifting problems! I'll know more tomorrow!!!
As far as the shifting problem when you told me to look for the TSS on the Transmission I looked and didn't see one so I did more research and digging and found that some of the older E40D Transmissions don't have a TSS on outer casing. Just the VSS on the rear Diff. Lead me to a guy in another forum saying it was his computer thinking it was reading a 4R70W transmission that some 1994 models had instead of the E40D. So it gave a false bad TSS signal.
The Falling on the face issue gradually got better and better after I changed the EGR Solenoid. I didn't have an issue with idle revving or stalling at all this evening. (I do a lot of test runs, since the sun rose till now, had my lady holding a flashlight #dedicated.)
So, what actually fixed the falling on the face? I have no idea best bet was the EGR Solenoid. I switched the old Computer(ECM) back in last thing tonight and seems to have completely solved the shifting issue not one stutter... for the moment i'll test more tomorrow and post my results! Thanks for the help really appreciate it. I'd just be a potato if it wasn't for you guys on this forum.
My experience was putting the BUG0 F4TF-BBA Computer model in my truck was actually for the same year truck but the wrong transmission even though it states it's for all auto Transmissions for that year. Maybe needs a re-tune or something but definitively not stock plug n play. the HUG0 F4TF-AAA was just right for my truck specs: 1994 Ford F150 4x4 MAF E40D Auto Transmission setup.

So you had an AOD computer trying to run an E4OD transmission?
Yeah that'll do it every time LOL.
