yeah, i'm addicted to the forums now, lots of nice guys who know their ****. when you pull the codes post the results we can help. from the info you gave, its possible even the trans filter has come loose in there, solenoid or sticking shift valve. start with codes, if its a solenoid the computer will tell you

Could be something as simple as a bad TPS. This effects the relationship of idle to shift engagement. Shows in error code scans.

I also recommend removal, cleaning, reinstalling & checking the IAC valve function. As this will not show up on an error code scan. Disconnecting at warm idle should produce a stall or close to stall. If not, it's pooched. Clean first before testing.

I also recommend a can of Transtune added to the transmission when tranny is acting up. This will improve function, especially with a unit that has not been maintained well (Fluid changes). Obviously will not do much for a failed componant though.

Seafaom kicks *** too & immediately improves idle & throttle response.

Been thinkin about the symptoms. Read this & see what you think. MLPS/ Manual lever position sensor. This may or may not present a code, as if it's reporting anything w/ in range, it thinks it's fine. even though what it's reporting is inaccurate for the position. I'd do the other stuff mentioned regardless. I've never had to dealt w/ one personally. E4OD, AXODE, AODE or CD4E trannys. Error codes #67 & #634.

I was hoping Sean would comment. Everything's malfunctioned on him at least once. Whatever you do, never mention starter solenoids around him!!!
I'll check Alldata & see what it has to say.

We'd do it
iTrader: (1)
I was waiting for codes to be posted to decide if I would reply.
Mine's a stick so my MLPS can't fail, and when the transmission shifts funny I know why.
The MLPS probably would turn on the reverse lights, but also help with idle control because the idle is different in or out of gear, and manual shifting would tell the computer which gear you're trying to shift into to see if it will allow it and maybe make performance changes to help maybe.

-edit- also i've tried aligning the MLPS in different spots because there is an alignment tool and nothing changed except when the reverse lights came on
