Hissing noise from engine
Hi all,
Got me another problem. Ever since changing my PCV I started getting this "hissing noise". I replaced hose with extra silicon vacuum lines that I had from changing all my vacuum lines. It was a little smaller in diameter. I really had to push it in hard into the intake manifold and into the PCV. Don't think a smaller diameter tube would do that
Also, did NOT replace the grommet and PCV felt a little loose. So I tried wrapping electrical tape around it and pushed it into the grommet and it was nice and tight.
Tried spraying throttle cleaner all over the vacuum lines and didn't notice any change.
My noise sounds EXACTLY like this guy's video. It's only 13 seconds long so if you don't mind watching, it sounds just like this one. And seems to be in the same general direction.

Update:
I still have the old hose. It's bendy cause it goes around the manifold. I had a piece of PCV stuck in there when I change the PCV so I used a vacuum hose. The plastic piece is still stuck in the end of the hose.
I went to the car store and asked for a thicker inner diameter hose like the original one I brought in. He said "no, it won't work, that's why this is thick and stiff it's good for the pressure". I thought it was stiff and thick cause it was old and brittle!
So spending time getting the piece of PCV out of the end this morning and putting it back in. Hope that does it. Also got a new PCV grommet.

Well how about that?!!!
Put the old hose in and a new grommet. No more hissing!!!!
Guess the silicon vacuum hose over the top of the manifold didn't work so well.
