Axles?
I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere in this forum, however I'm not sure where to find it. I just moved to Arizona and I want to start building my 95 F150 supercab 4x4 to be able to take on the desert. I went out one time to rescue my son who somehow felt a 2wd Ranger could go anywhere, and I managed to twist one of those cheesy little steps on the side almost off. I want to put a 4 to 6 inch lift on the truck so I can run at least 35 inch tires, maybe 36s, but the axles are the stock D44 in front and 8.8 in the rear. I know I'll have to change the gears since I've only got 3.10s in there now, but my question is this. Will those stock axles handle 36 inch tires? Or should I just plan on upgrading to beefier axles and if so, what?

Springer Spaniels Rule
Ford axles are pretty strong, the weakest point is the ujoints, get the hd ones, they do not have a grease fitting and are solid, if you want good axles, get Moser, they are good axles and reasonable.

Hi there and welcome, don't have the tech info that you are after, but anytime you are ready to go trail riding, lets hook up. I'm just north of you, towards Las Vegas, in a huge town called Searchlight. Sending you a PM about some rides in case you are interested. Good luck with your search for info, might check out the off-road section.
