emergency brake light switch plug 2016 F150
How do you get the plug to release Unable to see, just by touch. Is the release a push in or pull out and is on the fender side

I had this issue with my 2016 F150 EB w/ mechanical parking brake and while trying to get it unstuck I must have stretched the cable, as the foot lever was hanging down loose where it would trigger the parking brake alarm while moving. I zip tied the lever up it up and took it to a dealer I trust (got the Ford Protect extended warranty extremely cheap as part of my buying negotiations) to get it looked at.
To my surprise, the service manager called me and asked if I had ever had my frame replaced. I said to my knowledge I hadn't, but I was the second owner and only knew the history as far as it was reported by CarFax. He said he suspected that it had been replaced due to two indicators. 1) Apparently there are two frame types for the 2016's, one for the models with an electronic parking brake and one for models with the mechanical parking brake. The mechanical one has a bracket halfway down the frame for the parking brake cable (picture below/attached), while the electronic one doesn't. And my truck has the mechanical parking brake, but NO bracket. 2) My frame has a stamped/painted serial number on the front of the frame (close to the radiator) and apparently the original frames don't have that.
Can anyone confirm that their 2016 w/ mechanical parking brake has a cable support bracket on the frame (like the one shown below)? Also, does anyone with a 2016 w/ mechanical parking brake NOT have the support on their frame? The service manager said the missing bracket is why the cable has been stretched, as it adds more play and doesn't keep the pedal tight. I'm hoping someone can confirm/deny the existence of theirs before I go fab and weld a bracket onto my frame.

Nearly 5 years later, it's STILL the wrong forum for a 2016 F150.

damn, sorry. Could have sworn I checked that. I wish the forum search function was better, it’s easier to end up in the wrong forum with a Google search.
edit: looks like I actually replied to one of the “here’s an additional related thread” sections on mobile instead of the first thread on the page. I’m not a fan of that feature for exactly this reason.

You can turn that off in your forum settings. IDK why it's automatically enabled.

I don't use my phone to browse, or to write - I prefer a FS keyboard & a FS monitor whenever possible.
But you could make a post about that problem in the site help forum.
