I think 6x9 inches is the modern equivalent. Guess you'll have to make the hole bigger to fit the speakers. Other than that you might buy MDF frames, perhaps you wont have to enlargen the hole if you have those

no they are not 6 by 9s my brother had some they were quite a bit bigger. i think 6 by 8s would work best. there are lots of 6 by 8s on ebay. and cheap too!

Believe it or not im still using the original" Ford Premium" speakers. And to my surprise they sound good for only being 20 years old

they make 6x9's that have a second set of mounting holes for that app. (most do actually) My ranger had the 6x8s and I bought infinity 6x9's and they bolted right up. On the f150 I dunno, if space is tighter (but unlikely since the ranger is smaller) they may need to be 6x8. If you want the bigger 6x9 size, make sure they have the mounting spots for 6x8 and you should be fine

Oh how mine sounded terrible... I think the magnets were screwed up. I threw some JBL GTO 637s in the doors instead.

Yeah it sounds great.

OP: Did you measure the grilles or did you measure the speakers themselves? Because I know the Grilles on my door are like 5x8 but speakers are actually 6.5" round.
