i'm just wondering, because i've contemplated doing this to my 5.0 as well, have you noticed a power difference after eliminating the fan clutch and putting in the electric fan?

Yep! Not like super power, but a definite power gain. I've seen different numbers as far as HP gain, but all I can tell you is, I was able to turn the idle down and I get smoother, faster takeoff and smoother acceleration everytime I stomp the gas pedal. I have not done the swap on my 5.0 yet. Too many projects looming for the 4.9, but I will eventually get around to it. I don't expect allot with the weight of the extended cab, but it can't hurt and has to be of some gain.

Sure didn't. jumped right to the last page.
I only hooked up one side of mine and it works perfect, damn temp gauge doesn't move.
only reason one is hooked up is because i have to go back to the yard and get a shorter motor. but it works good enough for now, hooked up on its own circuit with a relay and toggle.

Does this mean he is getting temp from the oil?

I think he's saying that he fit the temp switch to an oil pressure sending unit adapter which threaded into the thermostat housing. Doesn't matter what the adapter is for as long as the threads match.

Ah thanks. Does that mean there is a bung to install a temp switch onto the thermostat housing?
