Finally, the mystery is over. Sent the replacement EEC back to Flagship parts. They took it back no problem and sent me another one (the replacement took them 2 weeks, my only complaint).
Installed it just a short while ago. Buzzed around town, lots of stop and go. Got on the Interstate and took it to 80 mph. Started, idled, ran and shifted great. No CEL. I'm happy.
Ymeski recognized the KAM failure code right off the bat as a bad EEC. Well done and thanks for the help, everyone, that is.
