Default 4.9 Belt chirping!!!

Replaced belt, belt tensioner assembly, cleaned all pulleys, changed power steering pump and still chirps at me.....What could be the issue. The chirp appears to come and go, but at worse when i shift to neutral and come to a stop at a light.

Any help will be great!

I had the same problem until I switched to a Goodyear belt as recommended on this forum.
YMMV

Yeah try changing the belt. One test you can do is pour water on the belt while its spinning. If the chirp goes away and comes back, its the belt.

If the belt still squeaks you have a problem with a pulley possibly out of alignment.

There is a gatorback belt on there now and it squeaks.... I did the water test and the chirp went away then came back. I notice all the pulleys spinning perfect round, but the crank pulley has a small wobble to it, but the truck has always been like that.....Do you thinks the belt is faulty because i do have another brand new gatorback available.

You might have birds under the hood. Spray them in the beak with water and if the chirping gets worse you definitely have birds.

you need to scuff up the chirping pulley... its either slipping on the belt or there is a bearing going bad... from the water test I;d say belt slipping on the pulley making a chirp... is it more pronounced with a load on it? turn the heater on High and the lights on bright...

how do you "scuff up" the pulley....Could it be the slight wobble in the crank pulley??? Is that hard or expensive to change out?

I used sand cloth the same used to clean copper pipe for soldering or brazing. I would say a 120-200 grit sand paper would also work. Do check why the crank pully is wobbling, you may have a bad harmonic balancer.

Well just found out it only chirps when the engine is NOT under load...only at idle... especially when i shift into neutral to slow down at a red light.
