There's the EVP which shows the computer the position of the EGR and the control solenoid which the computer also sees.

I pretty much deleted my emissions on my truck, the only thing I kept was the egr. There is a pipe that bolts to your lower intake manifold as far as I can tell none of it goes to exhaust, I have full length headman long tube Headers too and the only pipe that connected to the exhaust that I could see was the air pump pipe and that was rusted off for well over a year before I got the truck no check engine light. In fact the only check engine light I got was from not hooking my 02 sensor back up it wouldn't reach with my long tubes.

The EGR connects to the exhaust not intake, hence the name Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

Ok Sean, then why, when I did my headgaskets, did I un bolt the egr from the throttle body, then from the lower intake? No exhaust. Unless that part isn't egr

Did it have a threaded steel tube under it that goes down to the exhaust manifold? 5.0L egrs are different design then the 4.9L

If it didn't connect to the exhaust then it isn't the EGR. It can't recirculate exhaust if it doesn't have exhaust to recirculate.

The EGR hooks to the Intake manifold but the Tube comes from the Exhaust....

On a V8 some tubes were from the Exhaust manifolds

alrighty

anyways, right now the truck is parked. i stayed without a job and start daily driving a honda.

the egr pipe was always off since ive had the truck.

the question is really,
what can i do with the vaccum line and sensor plug if i buy an EGR Delete plate ?
so i wont get check engine light on at all.

I have the same issue I put longtubes on my 95 (302) and had to cut the metal pipe going to the egr..... its just open under neath now I get the check engine light after driving for about 60 seconds and its off again every time you shut off and start back up again.

Should I plug the end of the pipe??? I don't want to go through the PITA of removing everything and installing a block off plate...... the truck runs great as is right now I just want to get rid of the CEL!!!!
