Default Eec 1995

Here's a brain teaser: My EEC's programmed to meet the emissions standards applicable to California. Can it be reprogrammed to meet the Federal EPA emissions standards applicable to Florida? The California EEC's are not available in Florida junk yards so I'm hoping for a compatible EPA crossover to have repaired and put into my 95', it being this truck will never again see the light of day in California

Welcome to the site!
Thinking the EEC-IV vintage is not re-programmable.
Confused as to whether your current EEC has failed... between quizzing about reprogramming and not being able to find a CA EEC in the FL junkyards...???
As far as emissions, as the California requirements are more strict than the federal 49-state version sold everywhere else - so if it passes or even comes close in CA, it should pass everywhere else.
Believe strongly here in the philosophy of not fixing things that aren't broke - so if your EEC is still working, let 'er bump. If not, perhaps ping the CA junkyards for a like-for-like replacement.
Mixing and matching and fabbing and scabbing and rehabbing and crossing over can lead to a tremendous headache as well as a lightened wallet towards ending up with something that still runs.

No, EEC-IVs are not reprogrammable. If you FULLY describe the truck (read this page & fill in your signature), we might be able to help.
