You had all gears, replaced the clutch, and now only have 4th?

Sounds like you may not have gotten the shifter installed correctly, but my experience is with the M5OD. Are you sure you have the ZF? They're rare in F150s.

yes it is a mazda, my book has a misprint, shifter is in correctly, looks like the front gear on the top shaft is buggered, according to my local standard trans shop its a common problem if the trans pukes out all the fluid...cheapest used trans i can find is $1000 can, sounds pretty high, maybe someone here from Canada, possibly Sask area has or knows of one that's more reasonably priced? Thanks guys for the input, NI7S2S0AN

yup shifter forks are good, how hard and costly would a gear kit be to get and put in?

Bummer dude, I got my tranny for $45 used. Yea that was me that welded my fork, still working great. I had put the shifter in wrong and only had 3rd or something like that. It's worth a shot to check. All 3 rails have to be in line, meaning all gears in neutral. If one is in gear then the truck sort of tries to engage 2 gears at once and goes nowhere, but you can still drive in the gear it's stuck in.
